More donation information

Lara Kammrath is a friend of Charlie's that has been helping him with things.  Here is some info she shared with the committee organizing this benefit.  "Donations made to helpHOPElive will be tax deductible, and the money is restricted for Charlie's medical expenses only.  The other option is to make donations to a private trust set up by Charlie's grandparents.  To donate to this private trust, checks should be made out to: "The Charles M. Cook Irrevocable Special Needs Trust".  The private trust doesn't have restrictions on how Charlie spends the money.  But, donations to the private trust are not tax deductible."

Getting it going

This evening a group of Charlie's contra dance friends met at Panera Bread in Kernersville to begin hashing out the details of our fundraising event for Charlie Cook.  This blog will share information with a facebook event page to give the details on Charlie's Contra CareFest as it develops.
We have a date, a place, and a time.  As we secure bands, callers and auction items, we will be posting more details on the page links here and on the FB Event page.
Check back often for details!

Mark your Calendars!

Mark your calendars for Sunday, March 24. Charlie's contra dance friends are hosting Contra CareFest at the Old Salem Welcome Center from 12:30-6:30 PM to help raise funds for his living and medical expenses. There will be several bands playing, and callers calling, with a beginners workshop around 2PM.

In the foyer of the center, we will be holding a silent auction with donated art, services, and gift baskets. There will also be a raffle for a quilt and a guitar.

Getting hungry while you are dancing and bidding? Bring some finger food to share.
